HAMPTON UNIVERSITY CONVOCATION CENTER
With a seating capacity of 7,200, the Hampton University Convocation Center is the second largest basketball venue in the Coastal Athletic Association. Opened in 1993, the facility is the home of the Hampton men’s and women’s basketball teams as well as the university’s volleyball team.Â
In addition, the Convocation Center has hosted concerts, conventions, graduation ceremonies and special events. The Convocation Center has a capacity of 8,200 for concerts and conventions.
The Convocation Center include a removable Final Four basketball floor; two meeting rooms with wall-to-wall carpet, an intercom system and capabilities for theater-style seating or conference tables and chairs; two dressing rooms, each complete with wall-to-wall carpet, full-length vanity mirrors, an intercom system and a restroom with shower, four locker rooms complete with prostyle lockers, an intercom system and restroom with showers; a loading dock and mechanical loading ramp and a state-of-the-art sound system. The building has 2,000 parking spaces and two concession stands.
