HAMPTON, Va. -- The 2009 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Bowling Championships will begin on Friday, March 20 at 9 a.m. at the Gate City Lanes in Greensboro, N.C.
Delaware State, Maryland Eastern Shore, Morgan State and Hampton qualified from the MEAC northern division, while Norfolk State, North Carolina A&T, Florida A&M and Bethune-Cookman will compete from the MEAC southern division.
Only the top eight teams in conference play are eligible to compete in the championship tournament. Howard (8-22), Coppin State (0-30) and South Carolina State (10-14) will not compete in the championship tournament.
The tournament begins Friday, March 20 with a qualifying round. After teams are seeded they will compete in a second qualifying round with Baker matches and placed in a double-elimination bracket.
Play continues on Saturday with teams competing in a best-of-seven Baker series.
The 2009 MEAC Bowling Championship will conclude on Sunday, March 22, beginning with the semifinal round at 9:50 a.m. and concluding with the championship final at 11:45 a.m.
