HAMPTON, Va. – The Hampton University sailing team hosted the MAISA/SAISA meet this weekend, where they finished seventh out 12 teams with 147 points.
Saturday’s action was delayed due to the fog and variable winds, with three teams being disqualified. The weather was unpredictable for sailing with rain and wind, but it cleared on Sunday. The morning races sailed in WSW winds at 15-22 mph, with the breeze building to 20-28.
The courses were sailed in Gold cups and the last B race sailed a modified triangle.
South Florida came in first with a total score of 48.
