STONE MOUNTAIN, Ga. – The Hampton University women’s golf team won the Women’s Collegiate Championship, held Saturday and Sunday at the Stone Mountain Golf Course. The Lady Pirates finished with a two-day score of 678 (+110).
All five Lady Pirates finished in the top 10, led by
Iman Ellis (Reynoldsburg, Ohio), who took the individual title with a 17-over 159. Her 79 on the second day was the best round of the tournament, and she shot an 80 on the first day.
Sydnee Mauk (Las Vegas, Nev.) also fired a first-round 80 en route to finishing second with a 172 (+30), while
Hailey Hill (Charlotte, N.C.) fired a 31-over 173 to come in third.
Dionne West (Springdale, Md.) came in fifth after shooting 180 (+38) on the par-71 course, while
Jessi Mitchell (Fayetteville, Ga.) shot a 42-over 184 to come in eighth.
South Carolina State finished second in the five-team tournament, firing a 188-over 756.
