FARMVILLE, Va. – The Hampton University men’s golf team sat in 13th place after 36 holes at the Manor Intercollegiate at the Manor Resort Golf Club on Monday, an event hosted by Longwood University. The Pirates concluded the first day with a 149-over par score of 713 (362-351).
Javier Lopez was the highest-ranked Pirate after Monday’s action, sitting in 64th at +24, despite shooting a team-best 76 in the second round. Sidney Fields fired a 33-over 177 to sit in 70th, while Tre Craig was in 75th at 39-over par. Geffory Napper had a 41-over 185 to come in 76th, and Jason Sherer sat in a two-way tie for 77th with a 42-over 186.
Gardner-Webb held the lead after Monday’s action with a 581 (290-291). Daniel Kim of Gardner-Webb held the individual lead at 3-under par, thanks mostly to a first-round 69 – which is currently the round of the tournament.
