Eligibility:
The general public may submit one design to be considered in the 2011 Turn It Blue Fan T-shirt Contest.
 
How to Submit: Download entry materials from Hamptonpirates.com that contains the official rules and procedures, entry form, and blank t-shirt templates. Completed entry form (text document) and digital file containing t-shirt design should be e-mailed to huteeshirtcontest@gmail.com (no paper submission accepted).
Please be sure to include the following in your email submission:
ü      Email Subject Line should read “2011 T-shirt Design Contest”
ü      Attach a completed copy of your Entry Form
ü      Attach your design. Please name your final design document “Your Name Tshirt Design”
 
Contest Schedule:
Wednesday, June 15 – Application forms available at Hamptonpirates.com
Thursday, June 30 – Entries close (no e-mails accepted after 11:59 pm)
Friday, July 1 – Finalists announced
Monday, July 4 – 2011 Turn It Blue Fan Shirt Design voting begins
Monday, July 11 – 2011 Turn It Blue Fan Design results/contest winner announced
 
Judging criteria: Up to 7 finalists will be selected based on the creative and original use of logos and University traditions in a manner which most appeals to students and the Hampton fan base. The judging panel which shall identify finalist designs consists of the Director of Athletics, the Athletics Marketing Specialist, the Compliance Coordinator, the Sports Information Director and a general member of the Athletic or student body. Any student members of the judging panel are not eligible to participate in the contest. Hampton University and the Department of Athletics reserves the right to determine whether each design submitted is appropriate for a t-shirt used by the University.
 
Following the selection of finalists by the judging panel, the winner of the t-shirt design contest will be chosen by the general public via referendum in the Online elections.
 
Acceptable file formats: T-shirt designs must be submitted in a digital format and should be completed on the templates provided. Complete designs in .pdf, .psd, .tif, .gif, .jpg, .eps, or other common file formats. Designs should be in two color (Black & White) since the final design will be printed on a Hampton Blue T-shirt. High-resolution files are not required (note that the e-mail server limits attachments to 20MB).
