MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. – Hampton University senior linebacker
Lyndell Gibson has been selected to play in the 2012 FCS Senior Scout Bowl, which will be held on Saturday at 5 p.m.
Gibson (Virginia Beach, Va.) will play for the FCS South squad.
Gibson, who transferred from Virginia Tech before the 2011 season, led the Pirates with 83 tackles this past season – including a team-high 43 solo efforts in 10 games. He also had a team-high 11.0 tackles for a loss of 32 yards.
He also tied for the team lead in interceptions (two) and pass breakups (five).
Gibson had a season-high 14 tackles (four solo) against Bethune-Cookman on Sept. 29, tying his career high at Hampton. He also had a season-high 3.0 tackles for a loss of 14 yard against Savannah State on Oct. 27.
Both of his interceptions and four of his pass breakups came against Norfolk State on Oct. 13.
