NORFOLK, Va. – Hampton University junior Ce'aira Brown was named Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Women's Cross Country Performer of the Week, the conference office announced on Wednesday.
 
Brown (Philadelphia, Pa.) ran a season-best 17:32.00 this past Friday in the Virginia Union Panther Classic, turning in the meet's best time over the 5K course and helping the Lady Pirates claim their first meet title of the season.
 
She led four Lady Pirates in the top 10.
 
Ricy Brown of Bethune-Cookman was named MEAC Men's Cross Country Performer of the Week.
 
Brown and the Lady Pirates will return to action on Saturday, when they compete in the CNU Invitational in Yorktown, Va.
