LYNCHBURG, Va. – The Hampton University volleyball team dropped a pair of matches on Saturday to close out the Liberty Invitational falling to the host Flames (25-6, 25-17, 25-17) and to USC Upstate (25-20, 25-21, 25-23).
Sophomore
Reeana Richardson was named to the All-Tournament team after a weeked performance where she had 28 kills, 19 digs, one ace in the three matches.  She recorded a season high 14 kills and nine digs in the loss to USC Upstate.
In the match with Liberty, Richardson had nine kills and five digs while
Brianna Lilly had 18 assists and matched her career high with three kills.Â
Lena Washington added five kills and eight digs for Hampton in its opening Saturday contest.
The second match against USC Upstate saw the Richardson sisters combine for 23 kills as Reeana recorded 14, while Ravyn added a career-best nine kills and matched her season-high of two aces. Ravyn matched her career-best attack percentage in the game at .500. Lilly set a season-high in assists with 29 and added seven digs.
Hampton (0-5) will now participate in the Spartan-Aggie Invitational this coming weekend in Greensboro, N.C. with a match Friday night against North Carolina A&T State.
