LYNCHBURG, Va. -- The men's indoor track team participated in the Liberty Kickoff this weekend and came away with three first place finishes and a total of eight qualifying marks for the IC4A meet in March.
Moffat Wanjiru won the 200 meters in a qualifying time of 21.64, while
Jaelen Williams took the 500 in 1:02.67 to also qualify for the IC4A. The 4x800 relay team of
Geoffrey McCullough,
Tayvon Burris,
Justin Beatty and
Stanley Davis ran 7:46.02 to take first place and qualify for the IC4A meet.
Other standout finishes included Davis in the 800 (3
rd/1:53.82/IC4A),
Charles Graham in the 60 hurdles (5
th/8.22/IC4A), the 4x400 relay teams of Brenan Garrett, Beatty, Wanjiru and Williams (3
rd/3:13.97/IC4A) along with Burris,
Jerrick Powell, McCullough and Davis (7
th/3:19.32/IC4A) and Garrett in the 60-meter dash (10
th/6.91/IC4A).
Hampton returns to Liberty next weekend for the Darius Dixon Memorial and will also run in the Harvard Crimson Elite in Boston.
