LEXINGTON, Va. – The Hampton Indoor Track and Field teams competed in the VMI Winter Relays this weekend in Lexington and came away with a handful of first place finishes in a very strong meet.

Meshala Morton won the 60-meter dash improving her time in each round to finish with a 7.51 in the finals.  She ran 7.59 in the prelims and 7.55 in the semifinals before taking the final.

Hampton went 3-4-8 in the women's 60 meter hurdles as Kylie McMillan was third (8.64), Mallory Pitchford took fourth (8.70) and Autumn Smith was eighth (9.11).

???????Brenan Garrett made it a Hampton sweep winning the men's 60 meters in 6.88 seconds.  He also took a fourth place in the 200 meters in 21.87.

Moffat Wanjiru won the 400 meters in 48.56, while Tayvon Burris took the 800 meters in 1:53.01 with Justin Beatty coming in second at 1:53.91.

Hampton will next compete in the MEAC Indoor Track and Field Championships starting Thursday in Landover, Md.
