HAMPTON, Va. –
K'lynn Willis scored 18 points to lead four in double figures on Monday night as Hampton jumped out to a 21-4 first quarter lead and cruised to an 88-41 win over Savannah State.
After an Alexxus Sowell jumper tied the game at 2-all, Hampton went on a 17-0 run over the next 8:09 to lead 19-2 on a pair of
Allina Starr free throws with 38 seconds left in the first.
In the second quarter,
Jephany Brown scored 10 of her 17 points to lead Hampton as they pushed the lead to 48-19 at halftime.
Monnazjea Finney-Smith also had 17 points, while
Ashley Bates added 11 and seven boards. Brown also had seven rebounds to go with seven steals and four blocked shots.
Hampton (14-13, 10-4) now hosts Morgan State on Saturday at 4 pm on Senior Day at the hU Convocation Center.
