HAMPTON, Va. – Catcher
Sarah Kollas went 2-for-3 with two RBIs as Hampton took a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) series from Morgan State with a 4-1 win on Sunday.
The Bears got a run in the top of the third, but Hampton answered with one in the home half of the inning.Â
Daniella Milloy was hit by a pitch and went to second on a sacrifice bunt by
DaSha Hill.Â
Cassidy Blackwell singled to left to score Milloy for a 1-1 score after three.
Hampton (10-13/2-1) followed with a run in the bottom of the fourth as
Kial Watts started with a double to right center.Â
Morgan Crawford advanced pinch-runner
Taylor Warrick with a bunt before Kollas dropped a bunt single just far enough in front of the plate to allow Warrick to score.Â
In the sixth, Kollas and Milloy came through with RBI singles to score
Brianna Anderson and Camilla King for the insurance runs.
Allyson Babinsack took the win throwing a complete game four-hitter to even her record at 6-6.
Hampton returns to action against Howard in a three-game series starting on Saturday with a 1pm doubleheader at HU Softball Stadium.
