GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Hampton University softball team finished its run in the Florida Gator Round Robin on Saturday dropping a pair of games to Jacksonville (8-0) and fifth-ranked Florida (7-0).
Against Jacksonville, the Dolphins held Hampton to a pair of hits as they used a five-run third and a four-run fourth to take the 8-0 win. Â
DaSha Hill and
Sarah Kollas each had singles for Hampton as
Emily Sevilla took the loss throwing into the third inning and allowing four hits with three runs.
In game two with the nationally-ranked Gators,
Kial Watts was 2-for-3 and
Alana VanDenburg had a pinch-hit double as Florida Florida put up a pair of runs in the fourth and fifth innings to propel them to the win.Â
Allyson Babinsack threw a complete game striking out three while allowing 11 hits to the potent Gator attack.
Hampton (13-17) will now take on future conference opponent Longwood University in a 5pm single-game on Tuesday in Farmville.
