OKEZIE WINS GOLD AT WORLD JUNIOR CHAMPIONSHIPS

BARCELONA, Spain – Hampton University freshman Chidi Okezie won a gold medal at the IAAF World Junior Championships, which was held this past week, as part of the United States junior 4x400-meter relay team.
The squad won gold with a time of 3:03.99. Okezie (Philadelphia, Pa.) was the third runner in a team that included Quincy Downing, Aldrich Bailey, and Arman Hall.
Poland came in second with a 3:05.05.
The U.S. squad also turned in the top time in the preliminary heats, winning the second heat in 3:06.26.
