CHARLOTTE, N.C. – After a 2-0 week where he smashed his career-high with a 29-point outing, Hampton men's basketball senior
Davion Warren was named Big South Conference Player of the Week as announced by the conference office on Monday.
Warren averaged 22.0 points, 7.0 rebounds and 3.0 steals in two wins at Charleston Southern to start conference play. He had 15 points, six rebounds, five steals and four assists in the Pirates' 67-55 series opening-win last Monday, and followed with a career-high 29 points along with eight boards in Hampton's 70-68 victory on Tuesday. Warren was 13-of-27 from the field (48.1%), 5-of-12 from three-point range (41.7%) and made 13-of-14 free throw attempts (92.9%) in the two games.
Hampton (3-4, 2-0) returns to the home floor on Wednesday and Thursday to face Gardner-Webb starting with a 2pm tip on Wednesday.
