TRACK TEAMS TAKE TEN TOP FIVE SPOTS AT LIBERTY

LYNCHBURG, Va. -- The Hampton University track and field teams participated in the Darius Dixon Memorial Invitational at Liberty this weekend and came away with ten top five finishes.

On the women's side, the Lady Pirates went 1-2-3 in the 60 hurdles as Adetoun Oluwole won the race in 8.48, with Mallory Pitchford in second (8.56) and Autumn Smith in third (8.63).

Jailyn Raines took second in the high jump with a leap of 5-4.25, the 4x400 group of Jaelan Leonard, Autumn Smith, Sashana Hinds and Isis Brooks took third in 3:49.69, while Kameryn Trussell was fourth in the 500 meters in 1:18.85

On the men's side, Keyonte Midgett took top honors in the triple jump with a leap of 48-7 ½ .

Hampton went 3-5 in the men's 800 as Geoffrey McCullough took third in 1:53.78 and Jeremiah Hill was fifth in 1:55.47 and the 4x400 relay team of Jaelen Williams, Moffat Wanjiru, Noah Langford and Josiah Hill finished third in 3:13.70.

Next up for the track teams will be the Virginia Tech Challenge next weekend in Blacksburg.
