ROCK HILL, S.C. –  Homestanding Winthrop hit 63.6% in the second half to defeat Hampton 76-68 to win the 2020 Hercules Tires Big South Conference Men's Championship Sunday.
Hampton (15-19) opened the game with a run to take a 22-7 lead on a 
Jermaine Marrow 3-pointer with 12:26 left in the half.  Winthrop made a run to trim it to 30-28 on a Chandler Vaudrin jumper with 1:24 left.  
Greg Heckstall hit a 3-pointer with 28 seconds left to give Hampton a 33-28 halftime lead.
In the second half, Winthrop took the lead for good on a DJ Burns tip-in with 10:21 left to lead 46-44.
Marrow was the leading scorer with 18 points and finished his career with 2,680 points to rank 27
th in NCAA Division I history.  
Ben Stanley had 15 points and  
Davion Warren added 11 and seven boards.  Heckstall ended his career with a career-high 16 rebounds.
Post-game honors went to Stanley and Marrow who were both named to the All-Tournament team.
