At the 40:00 mark the Highlanders captured the first goal of the game and were able to maintain that one-point lead at the half.
The Pirate's defense has been a huge factor in the first games of the season.
Offensively, the Pirates were outshot 28-3, 10-3 shots on goal. As the season progresses Coach Momoh is prepared and focused on helping his team improve offensively and be comfortable with taking more shots.
Both teams battled back and forth but were unable to score a goal until a penalty kick by senior
Savyon Hammond tied the match.
"It was very uplifting after losing back-to-back games," said Hammond. "Scpring and getting our momentum back was a way of showing us that we can compete with top teams as we prepare for conference games this season."
With 2:01 remaining in the game the Highlanders were able to take advantage of the tie with a goal.
