Hampton (15-28, 4-16) fell to visiting North Carolina A&T State (17-30, 10-11), 4-0, in softball action on April 30 in the final home game of the season. A&T tallied three runs in the first inning on four hits in the win.
Carmynn Bonner (2-5) pitched the first inning for Hampton, yielding four hits and three runs but went 2-3 at bat for the Lady Pirates. Emily Workman pitched six innings in relief, yielding just one unearned run.
Hampton closes out the 2023 campaign on the road at Delaware this weekend. The Lady Pirates face Delaware in a May 5 (Friday) doubleheader with games times slated for 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. The Lady Pirates close out the season against the Blue Hens on May 6 (Saturday).
