HAMPTON, Va. (April 24, 2024) – Hampton's track & field teams are preparing to compete in this weekend's 128
th annual Penn Relays. The meet will start tomorrow, April 24, and go through Saturday at Franklin Field in Philadelphia, Pa.
Schools from across the United States such as Arizona State, Texas A&M, Washington, and Wisconsin are attending.
The Pirate's first field event will be in the women's hammer throw at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, followed by the first race at 5:30 (400m hurdles).

Last Week at the Morgan State Legacy Meet
Abria Smith,
Victoria Caldwell,
Oluwatomilayo Akintunde, and
Jaida Graham took the top four spots in the hammer throw (59.76m, 55.28m, 54.92m, 50.30m). Smith broke
Oluwatomilayo Akintunde's school record set two weeks ago at the Colonial relays (59.05m).
Smith, Akitunde, and
Nya Harmon grabbed first, second, and third in the shot put (14.85m, 14.77m, 14.73m). In the discus throw, Harmon won the event (50.07m) and
Rochele Solmon followed in third (47.57m).
Emmani Shaw earned first in the high jump 1.67m and
Dieusi Armand third in the triple jump (11.90m).
Dejah Grant won the 400m hurdles (58.88). Grant and
Zionn Rice placed third and fourth in the 100m hurdles (14.17, 14.28).

Madison P Greene, and
Dejah Grant won the 4x400m race (3:48.76).
Floyd Tucker won the pole vault at 4.40m.
Leo Davis,
Antoine Spencer,
Dugion Blackman, and
Aiden Whyte won the 4x400m event with a time of 3:15.86.
