Hampton Sailing Finish Fourth at Hampton Team Race

HAMPTON, Va. (March 30, 2025) … Coach Alessandro Ambrosi's side finished fourth at its home regatta the Hampton Team Race.

The seven-team field consisted of Navy, Old Dominion, St. Mary's College (Md.), Penn State, U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, and the Citadel. Hampton finished the race with a 6-9 record. The Pirates went 3-3 in their first round of racing defeating the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, the Citadel, and St. Mary's.

With the Pirates securing two more wins in the second round, Hampton moved on to the final four. St. Mary's was the Pirate's only victory in the final round of racing. Against the Seahawks, HU was able to convert the 1-2-5 formation.

UP NEXT

Hampton Sailing returns to action at the Azalea Bowl hosted by UNCW. The Azalea Bowl is slated to begin on April 5th and conclude on April 6th.
