Hampton Sailing Finishes 13th at Truxtun Umsted

ANNAPOLIS, Md. (April 13, 2025) … The Hampton University sailing team placed 13th at the historic Truxtun Umsted hosted by Navy.

This weekend's field consisted of 17 teams across the nation. Navy, Miami, and Fordham rounded up the top three. The Pirates had only finished eight points behind Old Dominion and were 14 behind George Washington.

Hampton's A team consisted of Stefano Palamara and Tommaso Ciaglia. While the duo had struggled throughout the regatta, Palamara and Ciaglia best finished of the weekend game during the third race finishing sixth.

The Pirate's B unit was Tyler Brown and Chloe Anderson. Brown and Anderson finished fifth in the highly competitive field. Through the first four races, the duo's worst finish was fourth. Brown and Anderson finished in the top five 50 percent of the time this weekend with seven top-five finishes.

Hampton sailing returns to action at the America Trophy hosted by Cornell. The America Trophy will be the MAISA Conference Championships.
