Men's Outdoor Track and Field Finishes Sixth At CAA Championships

GREENSBORO, N.C. (May 15, 2025) … The Hampton University men's outdoor track and field team used four top three finishes on Thursday to amass 73 points and finish sixth at the CAA Championships hosted by N.C. A&T.
The host Aggies won the championship with 177 points, followed by Monmouth (141), William & Mary (115), Northeastern (112), and UNCW (91) rounded out the top five team scorers.
Deondre McIntosh had a big day as he won the 100 meters in a season best 10.35 and took second in the 200 meters running a 21.31 to account for 18 points on Thursday.
The relay teams took a second and third place showings as the 4x400 squad of Jaden Clark, Chadison Cowan, Mohammed Al-YaFee and Justin Anderson ran a season best 3:08.65 to take second. The 4x100 grouping of Clark, McInTosh, Kyle Lewis and Khari Barnes ran 40.10 to finish in third.
In the high jump, Hampton had a fifth and seventh place showing with Daven Gibson and Prince Osaguie jumped 2.00 meters (6-6.75). The discus throw had Hampton pull a fifth and sixth place as Fanon Miller threw 48.69m (159-9) fof fifth and Daye Karibi-Whyte was sixth with a toss of 45.29m (148-7).
Al-YaFee finished fourth in the 800 meters running 1:50.20 and Anderson took fifth in the 400 meters covering the event in 47.00.
The triple jump saw Hampton pull a 5-6-7 finish to accumulate nine points. Joseph Ernest was fifth with a 14.88m leap (48-10), while Marquis White was sixth in 14.83m (48-8) and Ellis Branch was seventh with a leap of 14.73m (48-4)
Hampton will next see action in the NCAA East Regional in Jacksonville from May 28-31.
