Women’s Cross Country Takes 10th At Richmond Spiders Open

MECHANICSVILLE, Va. (Aug. 30, 2025) … The Hampton University women's cross country team began their 2025 season on Saturday morning with a 10th place finish at the Richmond Spider Alumni Open at Pole Green Park.
Freshman Shari Brown was the top runner for the Pirates coming in 43rd place as she covered the 4k course in 14:49.8. Fellow freshman Avah Savage was 78th in 15:28.1, while Kylee King was 93rd in 15:44.8.
Other runners for Hampton included:
Mekayla Wilson, 104th, 16:01.4
Angel Moultrie, 111th, 16:21.7
Saibu Yetunde, 114th, 16:26.5
Alannah Runge, 132nd, 17:05.3
Virginia won the meet with 18 points, followed by William & Mary (59) and Richmond (88).
Hampton hits the course again on September 6 at the Lancer Open in Farmville.
