HAMPTON, Va. (Sept. 12, 2025) … Hampton University sailing is back in action with a pair of regattas at the U.S. Naval Academy as they'll participate in the Chesapeake Open and the Mid-Atlantic Intercollegiate Sailing Association (MAISA) Women's Singlehanded Championship.
The Pirates return to action this weekend following their 11th-place finish in the Riley Cup hosted by Old Dominion scoring 113 points.
The A division was led by skipper
Tyler Brown, who has competed in four Riley Cup regattas following last weekend, while
Micah Brandel,
Kera Beckles,
Jackson Manley and Kiara-Lee Wright accompanied him. They put together a top-five finish in the 10th race. The B division added three top-five finishes as Ivey Bejar,
Chloe Anderson and Manley led the way.
Bejar will represent the Pirates in the Women's Singlehanded Championship also held at the Naval Academy.
