HAMPTON, Va. (Mar. 22, 2026) … The Hampton University women's tennis team dropped a match Sunday to North Carolina A&T 4-3.
Samira Khazieva and
Chelsea Chakanyuka earned the Pirates a win in doubles to start the match at the two spot 6-4, but it was the Aggies taking the point after winning at spots one and three.
In singles it was Chakanyuka giving Hampton their first win at the four spot taking down her opponent 7-5, 6-4. North Carolina A&T took a commanding 3-1 lead after taking wins at the one and two spot, but it was the Pirates who refused to be put away.
Toffee Ghorab earned a win at the three spot 6-2, 7-5, 7-5 to give Hampton its second win followed by Khazieva earning a 6-2, 6-4 win at the five spot forcing a winner take all at the six spot. The Aggies then went on to win a hard fought match at the six spot 2-6, 6-3, 6-7, 7-4 to clinch the winning point earning a 4-3 win over the Pirates.
