RICHMOND, Va. (Apr. 11, 2026) … The Hampton University women's tennis team dropped a match at Richmond Saturday 4-0. 

Richmond earned the first point of the match in doubles after winning at the one spot. Hampton was forced to forfeit at the three spot which ultimately gave the Spiders the early lead. The Pirates dropped a point at the six singles to start of competition due to another forfeit, followed by falling at the one and two spots to drop the match 4-0. 

Chelsea Chakanyuka won her first set 6-4 before her match went unfinished due to the Spiders clinching. Toffee Ghorab was also in a tight match, tied at 5-5 when in the first set before being unfinished.
