HAMPTON, Va. (June 23, 2026) … A record total of 239 Hampton University student-athletes were recognized for academic achievement by earning Dean's List accolades for the Spring 2026 semester. The total represents more than 65.5 percent of Hampton's student-athletes. To earn Dean's List honors, student-athletes must attain a grade points average of 3.0 or higher.
A total of 32 Hampton student-athletes with High Honors with Distinction, 67 achieved High Honors with 140 receiving Honors recognition.
The University honors student-athletes for three different levels of academic achievement. Those with a 4.0 grade point average are recognized as High Honors with Distinction. Student-athletes with a GPA between 3.7 and 4.0 are recognized as High Honors, while student-athletes with a GPA between 3.0 and 3.7 are recognized as Honors.
In the Fall 2025 semester, a total of 171 Hampton student-athletes recognized for academic accomplishments.
Women's Cross Country had the highest team GPA average for the Spring '26 semester at 3.69, followed by Sailing (3.68) and Women's Tennis (3.67). For the '25-'26 school year, Women's Soccer had the highest cumulative GPA at 3.62, with Women's Tennis (3.54) and Women's Cross Country (3.53) just behind them.
For men's teams, Cross Country had the highest team GPA for the spring (3.41), followed by Lacrosse (3.20) and Track & Field (3.13). For the past semester, Lacrosse had a 3.27 with Tennis (3.19) and Cross Country (3.08) rounding out the top three.
