HAMPTON, VA – Hampton Lady Pirates record their sixth win in last eight games as they take down the Winthrop Eagles 80-64 on Wednesday night.

Nylah Young dominated the post and scored a career-high 32 points while also grabbing seven rebounds. Guard
Madison Buford delivered four three-pointers in a 13-point effort off the bench.
The Lady Pirates started off in a close battle with the Eagles, ending the first period up 16-15. In the second quarter, the Lady Pirate offense began to catch fire as the clock winded down in the final minutes before halftime as they scored 16 points scored over the final five minutes closing out a strong quarter for Hampton, giving them a 42-27 lead at halftime.
Hampton carried their first half momentum into the third quarter, extending their lead to 20 points in the period. Shooting 45.8 percent from the field and having 10 different players on the night contribute to the scoring effort, the Lady Pirates rolled to the win.
