HAMPTON, Va. -- Former Hampton University quarterback Deondre Francois was selected by the Orlando Guardians on November 15th in the 2022 XFL Draft held at the UFC APEX facility in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Francois put his name throughout the Hampton record book in 2019 after a season that saw him throw for 2,522 yards, 205 completions and 26 touchdowns. His completions and touchdowns broke school single-season records, while his yardage count was second best.
He was named the Offensive MVP of the 2019 Chicago Classic as he threw for 217 yards and four touchdowns in Hampton's victory over Howard. He had three touchdowns in a game on three occasions against Liberty, North Alabama and Charleston Southern. His season best was 357 yards against Gardner-Webb where he was 29-of-51 passing.
Since matriculating from Hampton, Francois attended the 2021 HBCU NFL Combine, and has played in the Fan Controlled Football and The Spring Leagues.
