HAMPTON, VA … Hampton's Dugion Blackman qualified for the 2023 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships in Austin, Texas in the 800m. The championships will be held in Austin, Texas at Mike A. Myers Stadium and Soccer Field.

After missing the National Championships by one place last season, the sophomore earned automatic qualification, finishing second in his heat with a mark of 1:51.61. Blackman is the first Hampton student-athlete overall and first from the CAA to advance to the NCAA Outdoor Championships in the 800m since 2019.

The Jamacia native, won the Big South 800m title a year ago before capturing first in the CAA in 2023.
