AMIR SMITH JOINS SLAMBALL LEAGUE; DEBUT ON ESPN ON JULY 21

Former Hampton basketball player Amir Smith will be among 56 players competing in the relaunch of SlamBall, which debuts on ESPN on July 21. Smith was drafted by the Slashers in the 1st round earlier this month.

Smith spent a year at Rice and a year at Florida Atlantic before transferring to Hampton The Houston, Texas, native, moved to the professional ranks after playing at Hampton with stints with the Sweden-Basketligan and was the team's leading scorer leading the team to a 24-6 record. He played for TFT Skopje in Macedonia for five seasons.     The new iteration of SlamBall is a revival of the original sport which first launched in 2002. The five-week season plus playoffs will be contested at Cox Pavilion in Las Vegas, with ESPN covering 30+ matches across its platforms.
