HAMPTON, Va. (Feb. 27, 2026) … The Hampton University men's and women's tennis teams will play host to Longwood University Saturday at Phoebus High. The matches will begin at 11:00 a.m., followed by both teams taking a trip to Chowan on Sunday.

Hampton's men's team returns to the courts after falling 6-1 to JMU last week. The Pirates were paced by Rafael Padilha, as he won his second singles match of the season 6-2, 6-1 in the #2 spot. 

The women's team will play in their first match in over a week after falling to Norfolk St. 4-3. Toffee Ghorab (6-3, 6-1), Chelsea Chakanyuka (6-3, 6-2), and Melis Sakiroglu (6-4, 7-5) all won their singles matches against the Spartans, but it was the doubles point that proved to be the difference in the match.

Both teams will travel to Chowan on Sunday to take on the Hawks. The match is slated to begin at 11:00 a.m.
