HAMPTON, Va. (Mar. 20, 2026) … The Hampton University men's lacrosse team plays its third straight road contest Saturday at Queens (N.C.) inside of Queens Sports Complex at 12:00 p.m.
LAST MEETING:
Queens won last year's game 15-8 inside of Armstrong Stadium, while holding a 3-0 all-time record against the Pirates dating back to 2023.
ABOUT HAMPTON:
Maliik Wood (21), Anthony Bardonille Jr. (17), and Darius Stanley (10) have all recorded double digit goals on the season for the Pirates through six games. Bardonille Jr. has also registered a team high eight assists, as James Greene has added seven of his own. Wood ripped off his fourth hat trick of the year against Fairfield last Saturday, while Bardonille Jr. added two.
Hampton's seven goals against Fairfield in their last game was the most in a CAA game for the Pirates since the 2024 season.
The Pirates have shared the wealth on the offensive side this season, as 11 different players have scored a goal. Amare Ford (7) and Judah Johnson-Nixon (7) have been key on the defensive side as they have recorded a total of 14 caused turnovers, while Miles Lancaster has started in the net every game for Hampton, averaging 13.57 saves per game.
ABOUT QUEENS:
The Royals enter Saturday's contest with a 3-4 record on the season. They have played common opponents as Hampton in Mercyhurst and VMI in the 2026 season. Queens currently scores 10.28 goals per game, while allowing 10.42 per game.
Carter Petersen (17) and Ethan Scaffidi (15) lead the way for Queens, netting a combined 32 goals on the season through seven games, while Ryan McDaniel leads the team in assists with 11. Queens plays two goalies in Boston Badraun and Noah McGovern, as they have combined for 69 saves on the season with a saved percentage of .486.
Last season, Queens posted a 3-11 record.

Maliik Wood currently sits third in a single season for goals scored with 21 on the season. Pierce Johnson is the all-time leader at Hampton with 26 in a season. Anthony Bardonille Jr. currently ranks tied for fifth at 17.

Maliik Wood currently ranks third in the CAA with a goals per game average of 3.00 on 21 goals, while Anthony Bardonille Jr. is fifth in the league with 2.50 on 17 goals. Wood is third in the league in points with 28. Bardonille Jr. also ranks sixth in assists per game with 1.14 and second in shots per game at 10.00. Miles Lancaster ranks first among all goalies in the CAA with 13.57 saves per game.

Vincent Culpepper is leading the Pirates to massive leaps in year one. Hampton is currently averaging 9.29 goals per game after just 4.8 a season ago. The Pirates have already scored seven goals or more in six of the seven games after only accomplishing that feat twice a season ago. The Pirates currently rank second in the league in man-up scoring percentage at .421.
RE-WRITING HISTORY
Anthony Bardonille Jr. became the first Hampton Pirate to receive a major weekly award by the CAA on Feb. 23, winning CAA Rookie of the Week. The freshman from Washington, D.C. posted four goals and three assists against VMI. He has recorded three hat tricks in seven games this season, and currently leads the team in assists.
MARCH MADNESS
The Pirates will play four games in the month of March, all coming on the road, tallying 2,033 total miles. The month will start with a trip to Mercyhurst followed by Fairfield, Queens (N.C.), and Monmouth.
