Softball Evens Series At Elon With 6-2 Win

ELON, N.C. (April 11, 2026) … Behind a season-high matching 14 hits and a 3-for-4 with three RBI performance from Camryn Hamilton, the Hampton Pirates defeated Elon 6-2 to even their CAA softball series on Saturday afternoon.

Hampton (9-26, 3-14) got on the board in the first inning as Riley Bohanon beat out an infield single and went to second on a one-out single from Carmynn Bonner. After a fly out, Hamilton singled to left to plate Bohanon for the early 1-0 lead.

Elon (12-27, 6-8) scored its two runs off of two hits in the bottom of the second. Teagan Baulsir walked and went to second on a Peyton Fitzpatrick single. Following two infield outs, Mary Moss Wirt singled to right to score both runs.

The Pirates answered those runs with three of their own in the top of the third. With one out, Pinch-hitter Santrea Armstead singled to right and was replaced to run by starter Leah Maduro. Consecutive hits from Bonner and Violet Salazar loaded the bases before Hamilton tied the game. After a foul out, Myiah Sutton plated Bonner and Salazar with a single to left-center for a 4-2 lead.

Hampton scratched a run in the sixth on a two-out single from Bonner to score Bohanon. In the seventh, Hamilton started the inning with her fourth home run of the year with a blast to center.

Maduro took the win on the mound throwing a complete game allowing three hits, two runs with three walks and two strikeouts. Joining Hamilton in the multi-hit club were Sutton (2-for-4 with two RBIs), Bonner (3-for-3 with a run and an RBI), and Bohanon (2-for-4, double, two runs scored). The 14 hits matches their previous high against UMES on March 24.

Hampton goes for the series win on Sunday in a 1 p.m. start at Hunt Softball Park.
