BALTIMORE, Md. (Apr. 5, 2026) ... The Hampton University men's tennis team defeated Coppin State 4-3 in a non-conference match Saturday afternoon.
The Eagles earned the first point of the afternoon when they won at the two and three doubles spot. Rafael Padilha and Aryan Arora earned the lone win at the one spot for Hampton 6-3.
In doubles, Coppin State earned the first win at the six spot when the Pirates forfeited, but wins at the one, two, three, and four spots helped Hampton clinch the match.
Padilha dominated his competition 6-1, 6-1 in the one spot, while Benedict Badza (6-3, 6-4) and Arora (6-2, 6-0) also won in straight sets. Kohei Konishi went three sets, earning hard-fought 6-7, 6-0, 3-0 to help Hampton win the match.
