HAMPTON, Va. (July 13, 2026) … The Hampton University Men's and Women's tennis teams were recognized Monday morning by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) for their success in the classroom.
The Women's team earned ITA All-Academic Team Honors, an award that requires a 3.2 grade point average or higher. The Pirates posted a 3.54 average this year. The tandem Masa Mitic, Tanya Midzi, Serena Bryan, and Toffee Ghorab were all selected to the ITA Scholar-Athlete team for having a 3.5 gpa or higher.
In 2026, 1,501 Division I Women's student-athletes were named ITA Scholar-Athletes, and 231 Women's tennis programs were awarded the All-Academic Team distinction.
On the men's side, the duo of Kevin Jorquera and Aryan Arora were tabbed to the Men's ITA Scholar-Athlete team.
In 2026, 1,008 Division I Men's student-athletes were named ITA Scholar-Athletes, and 162 men's tennis programs were awarded the All-Academic Team distinction.
