LaTeria Johnson spent the 2025 season as interim director of football operations before being promoted to assistant to the head coach and football operations assistant in 2026 under new Head Coach Van Malone.
A decorated U.S. Navy sailor, Johnson has served her country since August 5, 2015. The Fayetteville, N.C., native has made the unique transition blending her active military service with higher education and sports management.
In 2023, she joined the Hampton football staff as a freelance photographer and videographer. In 2024, he took on responsibility as creative director and assistant operations director. In 2025, she was promoted to interim director of football operations demonstrating her leadership and commitment to the program.
In 2026, she was promoted again, this time to the assistant to the head coach/football operations assistant position. In her new role, she plays a crucial role in the daily operation of the football program. In addition to supporting the coaching staff, she is responsible for a wide variety of administrative tasks to ensure that the football operations run smoothly.
