HAMPTON, Va. (Jan. 30, 2025) … The Hampton University men's and women's indoor track and field teams head this weekend to State College, Pennsylvania to participate in the Penn State National Open at the PSU Multi-Sport Facility and Horace Ashenfelter Indoor Track starting on Friday.
Nearly 40 schools will participate in this event that covers NCAA Division I, II, III and Canadian schools.
Team Entrants to include: Binghamton, Bucknell, Buffalo, Canisius, Colgate, Coppin State, Delaware, Dickinson, Duquesne, Findlay, Geneva College, Georgetown, Guelph, Hampton, Kent State, Lake Erie, Liberty, Lock Haven, Loyola (Md.), Maryland, Morgan State, Mount Union, Norfolk State, Pitt, Princeton, Richmond, Penn, Rochester, Saskatchewan, Toledo, Toronto, Windsor, Villanova, Washington & Lee, West Liberty, West Virginia, Western Ontario, William & Mary and the hosts Nittany Lions.
The Pirates will be headed by their women's shot put group that is currently ranked ninth nationally by the U.S. Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association as announced on Wednesday.
A handful of Pirates will run in the invitational portion of the meet amongst the national leaders.
