HAMPTON, Va. (Feb. 26, 2025) … Nearly 60 percent of the Hampton football team was honored by the Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) as they were named to the Commissioner's Honor Roll. In all, a record 57 football student-athletes were recognized for academic achievement.
Eight players from Coach Trenton Boykin's team posted a perfect 4.0 grade point average (GPA) earning High Honors with Distinction from the CAA. Nine football players posted a GPA of 3.7-plus earning High Honors with 40 earning Honors with a 3.0-plus GPA.
Hampton student-athletes have excelled in the classroom with 205 earning Commissioner's Honor Roll honors in the spring semester, 2024. A year ago, the conference honored 35 Hampton football players for academic excellence.
Under the leadership of Director of Athletics Anthony D. Henderson, academic achievement has become a priority with increased emphasis and resources committed to academic success. The Academic Achievement and Leadership staff has been increased to include

Virginia Hansom,
Tyler Liverman, and
Khemani Roberts.
Student-athletes on the Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll must have attained a minimum grade point average of 3.0 during the designated academic term and been enrolled as a full-time student.
