HAMPTON, Va. (Aug. 13, 2025) … Hampton University director of athletics Anthony D. Henderson Sr. announced that Hampton has scheduled its first ever games against Power 4 competition and will play a Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS) team in each of the next three seasons.
 
The Pirates will take on Power 4 teams in both 2026 and 2027. Earlier, it was revealed that the Pirates would play at Maryland of the Big 10 Conference on Sept. 5, 2026. The game will be played at SECU Stadium in College Park, Md.
 
On Wednesday, Henderson disclosed that Hampton has signed an agreement to play at Georgia Tech, a member of the ACC, on Oct. 9, 2027. The contest will take place at Bobby Dodd Stadium at Grant Field in Atlanta.
 
On Sept. 16, 2028, the Pirates will take on Old Dominion of the Sun Belt Conference at Norfolk's S.B. Ballard Stadium. The two schools are just 13.8 miles apart and have faced off six times between 2010-21. The Monarchs transitioned from the FCS to the FBS in 2013.
