HAMPTON, Va. (April 10, 2026) … Hampton University football team will conclude its spring drills with the annual Spring Football Showcase at noon on Saturday, April 18 at Armstrong Stadium. The event is free and the public is welcome to attend.
The final spring practice will include individual and team drills along with a scrimmage under game conditions. Following the Spring Football Showcase, Pirate players will sign autographs and be available to take pictures with fans.
Food trucks will be on hand for fans and other entertainment will be provided at the Spring Football Showcase.
First-year coach Van Malone, former assistant head coach at Kansas State, is in his first year as the coach of the Pirates. A proven builder of culture with 23 years of experience in the collegiate ranks — 18 on the Power 4 level — he was named the 23rd head football coach in Hampton history, on Dec. 12, 2025.
The 2026 roster includes no fewer than 32 newcomers. Hampton returns seven starters on offense and four on defense.
The Pirates open the 2026 campaign on Aug. 29 when Hampton hosts Virginia University-Lynchburg. On Sept. 5, Hampton will play its first game ever against a Power 4 opponent when the Pirates play at Maryland of the Big 10.
Five home games are featured on the 2026 Pirate home schedule. Following the game against Virginia University-Lynchburg, Hampton will host CAA foes Bryant on Sept. 12 and Campbell on Sept. 26. The first three home games will kick off at 6 p.m. Hampton will celebrate Homecoming on Oct. 24 when the Pirates host Monmouth. In the final home game of the season on Nov. 14, Hampton will take on longtime foe North Carolina A&T.

Season ticket reserved seating is available for $250 and general admission season tickets are priced at $150. Active military season tickets are $75 with identification and Hampton University Faculty/Staff season tickets are $70.
