HU TO BROADCAST FOOTBALL GAMES LIVE OVER THE INTERNET

Fans invited to watch HU football away games free of charge

HAMPTON, Va. - Hampton University fans will now be able to view Pirate football away games online for free.  The first game to be broadcasted will be HU v. Delaware State on Oct. 4.
 
Partnering with online broadcasting company Network Foundation Technologies, LLC (NFT) the HU Pirates football action can be viewed by fans all over the world.     
  • HU will broadcast four of its scheduled away games including:
  • HU v. Delaware State - Oct. 4, 1 p.m.
  • HU v. South Carolina State - Oct. 25, 2 p.m.
  • HU v. Florida A&M - Nov. 15, 3 p.m.
  • HU v. Morgan State - Nov. 22, 1 p.m.     

In Jerry Holmes' first season as head coach, the Pirates are currently undefeated in Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference play.  The team is averaging 32.5 points per game and 1,519 yards of total offense to be No. 2 in the MEAC. Hampton is currently ranked first in the MEAC and in the nation in kickoff returns averaging 30.69 yards per game. The Pirates are also No. 1 in the MEAC in passing efficiency and sacks allowed only allowing a half of a sack.
 
The Pirates also have six players leading the way in the MEAC in the different categories. Senior wide receiver Justin Brown leads the MEAC in receiving yards per game with 94.50 yards and he is tied for 17th in the nation. Junior Jahmal Blanchard leads the MEAC in punting with 42.25 yards per game and he is 4th in the nation. Senior wide receivers/punt returnee Jeremy Gilchrist leads the MEAC in punt returns with 18.85 yards per game he is 6th in the nation. Senior Kevin Teel leads the MEAC in kickoff return yards as well as all-purpose yards with 144.00 yards per game and he is 2nd in the nation in kickoff returns and 25th in all purpose yards.
