HAMPTON, Va. – The Hampton University Women’s Basketball team defeated M.I. Express 76-53 in an exhibition game Thursday night at the Hampton University Convocation Center.

 

The Lady Pirates, preparing for their season opener next week against East Carolina, opened the game on a 20-5 run. Hampton would go into the locker room at halftime with a 34-19 lead.

 

Hampton will open the 2008-09 regular season Nov. 14 on the road against the Lady Pirates of East Carolina, with a tip-off time of 5:30 p.m. The first home game of the season will be Nov. 18 against UNC-Charlotte at 7 p.m.
