MISSOULA, Mont. – The Hampton University Women’s Basketball team went 1-1 in the Lady Griz Holiday Classic, hosted by the University of Montana on Sunday and Monday. The Lady Pirates beat University of Nevada 62-59 on Monday night after suffering an 88-47 loss to Montana on Sunday.
Whitney Hill (Hampton, Va.) led the team with 13 points and three rebounds. Sharella Leslie (Brooklyn, N.Y.) also had 10 points in the win. Senior Chinyere Ukoh (Woodbridge, Va.) had a te

am-high 13 rebounds to go along with eight points.
Hampton shot just 36.5 percent from the floor to Nevada’s 40.0 percent. The Wolfpack turned the ball over 19 times and Hampton won the rebounding battle 49-42.
Hill and freshman Choicetta McMillian (Fairfield, Texas) each led the Lady Pirates with seven points in Sunday’s loss to Montana. Ukoh led the Lady Pirates in rebounding with nine.
The Lady Pirates turned the ball over 24 times and shot just 25.7 percent from the floor. Hampton outrebounded Montana 46-43.
