HAMPTON, Va. – Hampton University senior Terry Thornton was named twice to the All-Region Team following the NCAA Track & Field East Regionals this past weekend by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches' Association.
The Pirates’ 4x100-meter relay team also earned all-region honors.

ay with a time of 14.46. His time of 49.40 in the 400-meter hurdles was good enough for third, as well as a spot in the NCAA Championships June 11-14 in Des Moines, Iowa.
Thornton helped the relay team take fifth in the 4x100-meter race. Thornton, Kevin Teel, Aaron Anderson and Predist Walker finished with a time 39.78, roughly half a second behind winner – and meet host – Florida State.
To be considered all-region, a student-athlete must place in the top eight of his respective event. The student-athlete’s institution must also be a paid member of the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches’ Association.
