HAMPTON, Va. -- As a warmup to voting next month, Hampton Pirate fans can cast their ballots for the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) 50
th Anniversary teams.
The MEAC will hold voting for all-time teams in each of the league's current sponsored sports throughout the 2020-21 academic year. Cease the opportunity to cast your vote for Pirates history. Ballots are currently open for both Football and Volleyball until Nov. 1

As the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) celebrates its 50th anniversary with the 2020-21 academic year, the conference office has now unveiled its list of the conference's 50 Greatest Moments. Three of these moments feature Hampton University Pirates History.
- On March 15, 2001, the Hampton University men's basketball team defeated Iowa State 58-57 in Boise, Idaho in the opening round of NCAA Tournament. The 15-seed Pirates defeated the 2-seed Iowa State in Hampton's first-ever NCAA Division I Tournament appearance, marking one of the biggest upsets in NCAA Tournament history.
- On March 13, 2010, Francena McCorory of Hampton set the American record in the women's 400 meters in 50.54, en route to her second straight NCAA Indoor Championship title in the event. The meet was held at the Randal Tyson Track Center in Fayetteville, Ark.
- On March 15, 2014, the Hampton Lady Pirates basketball team capped a run of five straight MEAC Tournament titles in defeating Coppin State 50-47 to earn the MEAC's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament. The victory tied the program's Division I single-season wins mark with 28
