ORLANDO, Fla. – The Hampton women's tennis team split a pair of matches on Wednesday defeating North Central College 6-1 and falling to Valparaiso by the same 6-1 score.
In its morning match, Valparaiso defeated Hampton 6-1.
Franzene Tsui won her match at line six singles for the lone Hampton point.
Laura Peralta lost in a second-set tie-breaker 6-3, 7-6 (7-4).
The night match saw the Lady Pirates take all three doubles matches as
Viktoria Ljungman and Toria Alexander won 6-3 at line one,
Milena Amedieva and
Laura Peralta won 6-2 at line two and the tandem of Tsui and
Keri Quillin won 7-5 at line three.
In singles, Hampton won five of the six matches in straight sets losing no more than four games in any of those matches.
Hampton closes out its Spring Break trip on Thursday facing the University of Charleston at 8 am.
