Hampton Associate Director of Athletics for Advancement, Joseph Walters, was honored among the award winners. Walters spearheaded the development of the Hampton Athletics Foundation and increased giving levels to the University's athletics program. He was also instrumental in securing the largest gift in Hampton Athletics' history: a multi-year partnership with regional bank, TowneBank.
 
The NAADD Diversity Initiative Awards provide convention stipends to minority (ethnic and gender) fundraisers involved in the organization. NAADD is committed to creating and reinforcing an inclusive environment where networking and professional development opportunities are fostered and nurtured.
 
Recipients will receive stipends to attend the 2024 NAADD Convention June 9-12 at the Mandalay Bay Resort in Las Vegas, Nevada.

"The NAADD Executive Committee is excited to introduce the 2024 Diversity Initiative Stipend recipients," stated Mitch Straub, Deputy Athletics Director at Washington State University and chair of the Diversity Initiative Committee. "This year's cohort is both dynamic and exemplary in their experiences to date. We believe that they will make a sizable impact on our industry, and the NAADD Executive Committee looks forward to providing enhanced education and networking opportunities for their continued career development."
